Former Ballon d’Or Winner, George Weah Is Liberia’s New PresidentEx Ballon d’or winner and politician, George Weah has been elected as the new president of Liberia, after clinching 12 of the 15 counties in the country.

George Weah took to his his Twitter page to thank all his supporters, saying that he plans to liberate the country.

He wrote;

“I am deeply grateful to my family, my friends, and my loyal supporters who contributed to our campaign during this extremely long election season”

The 51 year old George Weah George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah is a Liberian politician, and retired professional footballer who played as a striker.

He is set to replace Sirleaf Ellen Johnson.
