Ghana’s Kelvin prince Boateng Joins Barcelona On Loan
Former midfielder of Ghana’s Black Stars, Kevin-Prince Boateng has joined Barcelona on loan till the end of the season.
Boateng becomes the second January signing for Barcelona and the 14th African player to play for the Spanish club.
According to the terms, the Catalans have the option to sign the 31-year-old from Serie A side Sassuolo for a £7.1m fee at the end of this season’s campaign.
Prince Boateng had already played for Las Palmas in La liga before the club got relegated. He has also had spells at Hertha Berlin, Tottenham, Dortmund, AC Milan, Portsmouth, Schalke O4 and Frankfurt.
Before joining Barcelona, Kevin Boateng has scored 4 goals in 13 league appearances for Sassuolo this season.
He scored 10 goals in 28 league appearances for Las Palmas during the 2016/17 campaign.
This is a shocking loan move from Barcelona considering the calibre of players at Ernesto Valverde’s disposal.
The Catalan fans are eager to see how Boateng will adapt to Barcelona’s team and where he will be mostly used.
